Halls Gap adventure – hosted by SCCV

Date: Fri 1 – Tue 5 November 2024 (Melbourne Cup Weekend)

Location: Halls Gap – Grampians (Gariwerd) Region

Time:  Come for all days or just what you can manage.

Event Details: Accommodation bookings have been made and itinerary outlined for club activities at this very popular destination for the Melbourne Cup weekend. A great chance to get away and explore The Grampians (Gariwerd) Region. Picturesque scenery and some great drives.

Activities may be altered in line with the weather, unforeseen circumstances or access difficulties. It is up to you which activities you may wish to attend, a specific full itinerary will be provided when venues confirm bookings.
Halls Gap and the surrounding areas have cafes, restaurants, hotels and wineries for us to visit. There is a bakery selling all sorts of breads, pastries and pies.
If you wish to self-cater, there is a licensed grocery store with a range of fresh foods, meats and vegetables – the Gariwerd Motel does not have a functioning restaurant but they have indicated we may use their BBQ and cooking facilities at the Motel.
The store is open until 9.00 pm Fridays and Saturdays and 8.00 pm on the other days. There is a mini fridge in each room with toaster, microwave & tea & coffee.
It is preferable that we all dine together at least on the Saturday night so we get the benefit of the social activity of the trip but self-catering may be more suitable for breakfasts, except for Monday morning where we will all eat together.
If you have any queries in relation to this weekend or haven’t already confirmed you will need to discuss this with Mike Simmons as accommodation and most activities are already locked away.  Mike – vicsaabpresident@gmail.com
